What the client wanted to achieve

We received a call from a specialist Ducati dealer who required a workshop floor that would give a suitable floor finish including slip resistance, chemical attack resistance, impact and general day to day abuse, at first the client wanted what he described as a high gloss, great looking floor to go with the brand he was selling and servicing, as we all know oil, grime and daily impact with resin flooring cant really be achieved  so a  “FIT FOR PURPOSE” solution had to be the way forward to achieve the ultimate goal, after a few conversations and with Contact Floorings experience we agreed a specification that was going to last the test of daily operations within this facility. 

The solution

Once Contact Flooring and the client had agreed the correct system we had to overcome a few issues, firstly there was a inspection pit that had been covered with lintels and filled in with repair mortar which in fairness had been done very well, after strength tests this was deemed suitable to accept the floor finish, there were also finish floor level heights to overcome at roller shutter doors and fire doors which we did by building up the areas with suitable repair mortars.

After all of the above was completed we then installed a 9mm polyurethane screed to the area, this brought the floor level to where it needed to be and gave the client what will be a surface to work on for many years to come.
