Derby (Vaping Distributor) Canteen Area (90m2 Flake system)

What the client wanted to achieve

As an existing client we already knew that this outstanding area to the project required a suitable resin floor finish, as this was an industrial canteen/kitchen and the client wanted to provide almost a “sleek” environment for the staff what was going to be a gloss coloured resin coating originally was up-sold to a system that would not only lift the area but with the lighting that had been installed the system also give the “Wow” factor, as you can see from the pictures this canteen certainly provided a tasty image.

The solution 

Once JD Flooring and the client had agreed the change on the decorative finish we lightly ground the concrete not to create preparation marks in the surface as the resin flakes were only going into a solvent free high build resin coating, once the mechanical preparation had been carried out and the high build epoxy resin coating had been installed the flakes were fully blinded into the resin surface and left to cure over-night. The next day was a case of simply removing the excess flakes which was recovered and then a polyurethane UV Stable clear seal coat was applied and again allowed to cure overnight. With all this complete the client was totally satisfied and the remainder of the canteen fit out could commence, another job completed and another happy customer.
