Animal research centre facility new PU Screed with easy clean finish

What the client wanted to achieve.

This company provide products and services to support a broad spectrum of the animal sector to include livestock, equestrian to name but a few, with this client the requirements were fairly simple but the actual finish had to be exactly what had been explained to us, Contact flooring install Polyurethane screed systems across many industries mainly because of it hard wearing, slip resistant, impact and chemical resistant characteristics. The other request was to have a high gloss finish but this was not possible with the standard screed system as the finish is Matt

The solution.

Contact Flooring set out on this project by firstly grinding the concrete substrate with a scanmaskin triple headed grinder, edge grinding was also carried out. Once all preparation and repairs were complete we installed the polyurethane screed system by hand to the 370m2 area at 6mm in thickness and allowed it to cure overnight, following from this we then installed in 3 different colours a hardwearing epoxy high build coating to separate racking, walkways and fork lift trafficking areas, the project was then finished with 100mm yellow demarcation lines to deliver a very clean looking project and ultimately a very happy client
